How are East-coaters enduring the storm?
How are East-coaters enduring the storm?
I was wondering how those out east are dealing with "Sandy". It appears that our moderator "Mutts" was right in the path.

I'd forgotten Muts was from Jersey. Wonder what town he was from
as if it mattered. I think the whole state got hit pretty hard.
We'll have to wait for him to surface and tell us what went on.

Well we made it through...wasn't fun.
Without power for 5 days. No damage thankfully.
The stupidity of some people is mind numbing...looting is worse then anyone is reporting.
Gas, thankfully we took care of that BEFORE the storm...
Trees everywhere.
The wind during the storm was a harrowing experience, never in my life I have witnesses such raw power... I was just waitin' helplessly for something to come crashing through the roof. No power, cold setting in, wind wippin' through the trees...didn't sleep much that night.
Watching from the front window you could see the flash of transformers going out, until the whole sky lit up bright green - which we later learned was an electrical sub station blowin' up...
No phones, No Cell Service. You couldn't reach anyone...
Awesome and terrifying.

Glad to see you back Dan, and alive! That's quite a story you
just told. We were waiting for you to show back up. I think this
is hard for a lot of us to imagine what you went through.
Harrowing sounds like the word. Were you worried about looters
in your direction? While I imagine quite a few signs were destroyed,
would you guess your business will see a good bump up?
Don't suppose you have some pictures you could post of around
your area?

WOW! I am glad to hear that your property survived. I keep fuel on hand for my generator just for weather disasters. Big snowstorms are probably the most likely problem where I live so heat and water would be missed the soonest. We also keep 5 days of canned food items around as well.
It is good news to hear you are alright. With all the generosity you have given to all on this site, We certainly want to hear if we can help you !
