Are Yellow Page ads really necessary?

Post by zlmark » Mon Apr 25, 2011 10:45 am

Here's the thing, yellow page ads are pretty expensive and I am wondering with
a properly google'ized web site and all the cell phones that do the web are yellow
pages really relevant anymore? There is a downward trend in the yellow page
ads I think I hear. How many out there have abondoned the yellow page ad idea?
Do you know others that have? Google has a presence that could supplant the yellow
page ads I'm thinking.

I main business is window tinting which is retail opposed to sign which is b2b . But i use to spend $1000 per month in yellow page ads. I stopped cold turkey this year and i now pay a company $125 to keep me in the top 3 position in the google local business listing . I probably have had a 20% increase in business plus saving nearly $800 per month . Google local ads are very powerful. OH yes you must get alot more positive reviews than your competition . So you have to make sure you dont piss off any customers.
