Creating a soft oval

Post by Jodi » Sun Apr 05, 2009 10:15 am

For some reason I can't seem to figure out how to create a soft oval around a picture. I guess that's how you would describe it, basically I want the picture to fade out around the edges.

I use Corel Draw X3 and Flexi software. Does this require a special plug in?

Thanks!
Jodi

Hi Jody - you mean some effect like this?

I use Photoimpact to do this, but Photopaint should do this very well too.
Flexi could do this, if you working with Adobe compatible plugins.

Thanks Markus,

That is what I was looking for. I have Flexi but not the adobe plug ins.
Can you purchase the plug ins without owning Photoshop?
I do have Corel Draw X3 which I guess has the Photopaint option.
I just don't use Corel Draw much. Sometimes I wish I had learned
that before Flexi because Flexi is what I seem to be the most comfortable with.

Thanks for the reply!

If you were to put this image on top of a background, would you see the outer square of white or would it fade directly into the background in an oval shape? I've tried in Corel but still have the outer square.

If you have Photoshop I can walk you through it.
