Deleting a background

Post by Jodi » Wed May 14, 2008 11:40 pm

Hi :)

This is somewhat of an elementary question but since I'm new to Corel I thought I'd ask it.

I have a photograph of a person that includes a background that they choose to leave out of the print. So....I'm looking for the best way to trace around the photo and leave the background printing just the person but I'm also thinking it might be nice to create a faded edge around the person.

I also have Flexi 7.6 v2 so I'm up for any advice on either software. I'm still learning on my DC3 so every day is a new and different thing for me :)

Thanks in advance........Jodi

Jody, the best way that I know of doing this is with Photoshop...I don't know that it can be done in corel...
In Photoshop I do it all the time.
DC3 Plus, Summa D60, Roland PC600
Flexisign Pro 7.6, Photoshop C2, Corel 11

Hello,

In CorelDraw I would use the Shape Tool and then click on your photo and start adding anchor points where needed. Then "convert line to a curve" where needed and start bending the lines to get the desired curves. It is a little time consuming, but pretty easy.

Hope it helps...
