Yes is it possible and easier then you think
First off, choose the correct font. We have all
seen it “Times” with a gel effect - hideous
indeed! We need something more conducive to
this effect something with rounded or soft
corners, and plenty of meat....no Arial Narrow will not work.
Here I am using Barmeno! Around 3” high

Choose a dark color for your text.
Here I am using a “pure hue” rgb BLUE - one day I’ll explain that.
Then we’ll add a Contour to the “Inside”
1/8 is good or .12 close enough. Choose a lighter blue
here I am using Straight CYAN.

Now we are gonna need Highlights!
You’ll need an extra set of inner contours to complete the highlights
Break what you have apart, copy the CYAN part and move it out of the way.

We’ll come back to that in a minute.
Go ahead and make your highlights. If you do not know how to do that
follow this tutorial - highlights
Highlights complete!

ok, grab the copy you made of CYAN Inner Contour convert that
to a bitmap ( if your gonna output this I suggest 300 dpi, but if your
machine is having trouble keeping up then use something lower )

We’ll apply a filter, never leaving CorelDRAW!
You want Gaussian Blur ( top menu Bitmaps, Blur - Gaussian blur) -

24 pixels or so is good for the size letter we are using.

Stick your blurred letters on top of your Highlights and Original Letters and Voila!

I like to keep the highlights
UNDER the blurred letters I think they look better.

Some other idea’s using the same technique -
Gradient, Shelacked Wood
