I have used all these with success:

Avery A8 Clear
Avery A6 White
Avery A6 Clear

we have also used Saturn 12-oz banner material (S001-12 White) from Avery Graphics and it came out amazing. Just had to slow down the printer as slow as it would go.

 You can really tell which vinyl company we use all the time ah!

Avery Graphics just cuts it down for us when we order from them. Or so I'm told by my boss.

I think 3M also cuts it down for us but I'm not 100% sure. Will have to ask about that one....

So you order direct from Avery? Sorry to be apset but so far I have had the three local suppliers say : No cutting; No Cutting and the third 'digital printing specialist' didn't call me back.
The finance department a.k.a. Wife is concerned we bought a wierd-o material sized machine and we have a pig in a poke .......

Have you checked Ordway Sign Supply? They've got a pretty good selection of vinyl types in a variety of different sizes.

http://www.signsupply.com

Oracal, Mac Tac, 3M, FDC, and Nikkolite

sizes from .25" pinstripes to 60" wide depending on type.

You can add A4 High Gloss to the list! Used it in a pinch and got the same results as the Summa Intermmediate.

Oracal 651 Clear works great (wholesale banners $186.00)

Oracal 341 economy works fine as well. I use this for small decals. It has a thickness that is great for people to peel themselves and apply. Anything thinner, I noticed, consumers have a problem peeling and applying. I can't remember the price but it was cheap. Good for promotional stuff.

Do you guys scrub this stuff before you use it? When I bought my DC4 I was told the main reason we should buy Summas products is because they have been scrubbed before they ship them. I don't want to ruin a $2k printhead to save a few bucks on vinyl. But if all it takes is a good wipe down before I print I'm all for it.

I thought I would let you know that I have MacTac MacCal 9800 Pro in my DC4sx and so far it works as good or better than any vinyl I've tried. I think I seen somewhere else on the web that somebody used this and didnt't like it. So far I love it. 30" x 55 Yards from Ordway on the net for $205.80 delivered.

You can add FDC Ultracal 4200 intermediate...I mean uuuhhhh....... Summa Intermediate to the list, looks to be one and the same after some detective work on the internet. Summa should really splurge and spend money on new packaging instead of re-labelling somebody else's boxes.
