Re: summa ribbons

I don't think its all impossible. It all depends, if you use a lot of ribbon it may be worth buying the machine that program the chip. I've done some research in regards to the chip, and its called I-button and there's a machine that programs it, it can only be used once. But if the chip can somehow...

Hi Muts,

It does look and I know that the calculator isn't done just yet as you'll be adding some more features to it.

Re: Price Calculator

Hi Muts, Is this right? I imput a job of 34"X12 which is a logo plus some letters. it gave me total job output of 2'.83, so its almost 3'sq. The job is printed on CMYK on premium vinyl. It gave me the cost to print of $7.358 and Retail of $10.30, that's less than $3 profit. I had in my mind of charg...

Re: Printing on Window perf....

Although I have a DC3 +, I have done something that may help you. DC3s can only print on 40" media but I have some 15" vinyl that I would liked to print on, so what I did I cut a piece 30" long (15"wide vinyl) and then I placed it inside the DC3 with a regular 40" mounted on the printer, I then tape...

Re: Bitmap question

Jodi, you can create the whole thing in corel. That design isn't difficult at all to re-create, and corel is easier to learn than you may think. I don't master corel by any means, I know to use the tools that I use often, when I need to create some complicated design I've never done before I just fi...

Re: Bitmap question

Why don't you re-design the whole thing from scratch on corel???
That design isn't difficult to redo and you'll have a nicely made vector logo.
I do it all the time.

Re: How do I print a building sketch??

You can either print it directly to the banner if you have any printable banner. You can print process onto clear as long as you print white as a mask and prepare a contour that will go around the image...You can't cut the image itself as its made of hundreds of pieces (in this case you could cut it...

Re: Ink does not seem to be sticking

Hi Pedro,

This is something quite odd, I have never heard of it. The ribbon should melt into the vinyl and you shouldn't be able to scratch it off.
I'd suggest you to call Summa as they should have an answer to this.
Good luck,

Re: RI chips for foils

Sorry for the delay, been out of town. Mark, you could use any other chip color other than Cyan, all you need is to trick the machine into thinking you're printing that specific color when you're not. I have never printed using foil, so I don't know if you'll have to adjust the heat on the printhead...

Re: Classic goof

The line could be a need for "Line feed calibration"

Once in a while specially when I switch vinyls often, I have to perform the Line Feed Calibration, otherwise I may get the line, after the calibration the line is gone.

Re: RI chips for foils

If you have a ribbon but not the chip, all you have to do is cheat the machine.
Lets say you have a Gold ribbon and no chip, borrow for instance the Cyan chip and use it instead.
Just don't forget to change the gold color to cyan at the software, so the printer looks for cyan but will use the gold.

Pedro, Summa has a book with all the color combinations you can achieve by overprinting ribbons.
I believe I paid $30.00 for it. Although this should come free with the machine is well worth having it.
You have to ask for it as its not available at their website.
