Re: No more Summa printers?
Hi Mark, There haven't been any new developments and I am not sure there will be many, if any, in the future. The thermal printers like the Summa haven't really changed a whole lot in the last 15 years and with them being more of a niche type printer now we don't sell many units. We still have a str...

Re: XY calibration can someone help
Good afternoon, I am just now seeing your post but I hope my reply helps you get everything dialed back in. The easiest way to get the print cut alignment back close to the correct settings is to change the media profile(pick any one you haven't used since running the print & cut calibration) and th...

Re: Alignment issue
Hi Muts, We(Airmark) sold our stake in Summa but we still offer all the ribbons and additional parts for the Summa DC printers, including your DC3. If you recently contacted Summa to troubleshoot a cutter then it likely wasn't us, but I can assure you if you contact us we will provide the best suppo...

Re: Problems with Summ DC4sx, please help
Good morning, I would assume both of these issues are due to file prep. If you could email me the files you used in these examples along with a photo of the finished print with the errors I can likely get this resolved for you. My email is philj@airmark. FYI, we are the only distributor for the DC S...

Re: No more Summa printers?
Hi Antimatter, Everything but the print heads are still being manufactured in the same factory in Belgium. We are now producing and installing the print heads here at our facility in Seattle. We will still continue to stock all the same process and spot color ribbons as well as all the parts for the...

Re: No more Summa printers?
Hi Antimatter, I just wanted to let you know that we(Airmark) are the only company offering the Summa DC line of printers. We still have both the DC5(54") and DC5sx(30") printer cutters available and still carry all of the resin ribbons, print media, print heads, and other parts. Feel free to contac...

Re: 3m 1080 wrap film colored
Hello Watchdaride, I am not familiar with any printable, colored, 3M wrap material. Is there a reason you wouldn't just print the black on a white material? Maybe you could tell me a bit more about the project and I can better recommend a vinyl that may work best. Best regards, Phil Johnson Summa Inc.

Re: Banding and Alignment Issues with Summa Dc4sx
Hi Cheryl, It looks like there is an issue with both the linefeed calibration and the head alignment. What type of media is this that you are printing on and have you already run the recommended linefeed calibration test? What is your dot overlap set to? Have you ever run a head alignment test? Are ...

Re: Summe Dc4sx Small Line in Print
What type of media is this? What is your dot overlap set to? What is your density setting currently? What dot shape and frequency are you assigning in ColorControl?
Best regards,

Re: Heavy Y axis
Hi Stickyjack, That is great to hear that you were able to get everything back up and running. As for the 651, that really isn't a print media so I would suggest finding another Oracal product to print on if you would like to stick with that brand. The Oracal 751 cast vinyl might be a good place to ...

Re: Heavy Y axis
Hi Stickyjack, Sorry to hear about the difficulties with your machine. I personally haven't seen that error message before and when I discussed the situation with one of our senior techs who has been with Summa for 15 years and he hasn't seen that error message earlier. They suggested contacting the...

Re: Double Strike White
It's definitely difficult to tell what's going on based off the photo, but I do see the faint overlap in the photo. Is double density turned off? Have you tried lowering the density to something like 10,500-11,000? Do you have any of our premium clear material that you could try printing the same jo...

Re: Double Strike White
Hello Jayhawk, Most of the adjustments you made(color offset, dot shape, frequency, etc.) don't affect the visibility of the overlapping portion when printing with spot colors. Some more important considerations would be your overlap(on, half, off) and your density. The first thing I would do is cha...

Re: Summa "Could Not Sense Media Width"
The tape trick should work, but alternatively you could set your media edge to "0". Just launch printer control, scroll down to media edge and then change the value to "0". When you do this the printer will prompt you manually select the width of your media and then you can go ahead and proceed with...
