Re: Creating a soft oval

Thanks Markus, That is what I was looking for. I have Flexi but not the adobe plug ins. Can you purchase the plug ins without owning Photoshop? I do have Corel Draw X3 which I guess has the Photopaint option. I just don't use Corel Draw much. Sometimes I wish I had learned that before Flexi because ...

fills & stock photos

I've used the Dreamstime & iStock websites for images in my art but do any of you suggest any other resources that are good for that? I like to be able to buy single images and I'm always interested to hear other resources for that.

Thanks!

Re: cutting/knife issue

Sorry, that was confusing. The cutter I was referring to was my Summa vinyl cutter machine which I still use a lot for my sign jobs. That's probably why I haven't went through much for knives in my DC3. Someone mentioned how surprised they were that I hadn't had to change my knife out yet on it til ...

Re: cutting/knife issue

Thanks for all the great help! I haven't yet pinpointed the source of the problem but I really appreciate the help! I sure hope it's not the head! I still use my other cutter for a lot of my jobs but I'm guessing the DC3 heads aren't cheap. Thanks again...I'll post my findings when we figure out the...

Re: cutting/knife issue

I use the Denco Aspire Intermediate High Gloss. It had been working fine until the knife starting getting dull and after we changed the knife it still kept doing it. I'm not sure what to think. I had hoped that after it originally started doing it that changing the knife would solve it. This is the ...

cutting/knife issue

Hi guys! Just a question regarding my Summa DC3 knife. I've been experiencing problems with the cut line not cutting 100% so I thought my knife needed replacing. My husband changed that out for me and we've tried tweaking the cut pressure as well but I'm still noticing that when it completes a conto...

Creating a soft oval

For some reason I can't seem to figure out how to create a soft oval around a picture. I guess that's how you would describe it, basically I want the picture to fade out around the edges.

I use Corel Draw X3 and Flexi software. Does this require a special plug in?

Thanks!

summa ribbons

Hi :)

I'm sure this topic has been explored before but I'm wondering if anyone has found a source other than Summa for the DC3 ribbons. I'm afraid to try anything but their brand and maybe there is no other choice.

Just curious............Thanks! Jodi

Re: silver as a spot color?? & scratchguard

Thanks for the response Dean! It's always good to hear first hand from someone who has used the products. I had no idea that silver would have a mirrored finish. Now I know what to expect. I seem to have a harder time getting the silver color to match on the four color process than any other. I appr...

silver as a spot color?? & scratchguard

Good Morning, Anytime I have to print silver I have trouble getting the right shade through the 4 color process. Do you use a spot color to get a better match? I've never bought a spot color but I'm wondering if it would work better for at least that color. Also, I've never used the scratchgard ribb...

Re: Bitmap question

Thanks for the replies! I did work with the eps file and got a better result after making adjustments in production manager. Mark, I was trying to scan a finished product decal that was in good quality but I agree that the scanning of it didn't make for a good print. I'm more used to that method usi...
