Re: Using vinyl on FRP trailers....

Painted wood should work. Depends on the paint. Vinyl sticks on MDF. But it does have to be painted. I am not familiar with an FRP trailer. Does it have some sort of silicone coating? Or is it a soft sided trailer. If it is straight canvas no but if it has the banner type finish it should have no pr...

Re: T-Shirts?

are you actually printing with a summa? I haven't heard of this process. Is there a different set of ribbon for the process? Is it dye sub or is there a thin layer of material transfered?

Re: Flexi and Dc4SX

Yep, it has the drivers.

I didn't think it would be a pain the butt to print. If it has the rip, one would think it would be easy. It is never easy.

Flexi and Dc4SX

I can purchase a used copy of flexi 7.5. Prior to purchasing I checked out the compatibility with the Summa and the drivers are there, however, I know there is a lot more to this than plugging in the printer and hitting send. Like colour profiles and such. Anyone have any ideas how this works. Kevin

Re: Window Perf

Well bad question. I can't actually print on perf, I use clear with vision print turned on. It works real well except for the light colour.

Window Perf

When I am printing Window Perf, I am not getting a real sharp image. It is kind of milky, faded. Any suggestions?

Re: new error on DC4sx

Make triple sure that your media is loaded 100 percent accurately. If it is skewed at all within 2 or 3 feet you sensor will fail. (new one I uncovered this week.) Also try blowing out the sensor eye with some compressed air. And every time you change product do a test.

Re: New Summa Offerings!

Ya know they kinda suck at keeping us informed. I want to know tips and tricks. What are those guys doing down there and why does Muts have to do their job for them. It kinda makes me want to swear at them. (I did but it came out of my mouth not out of my hands)

Re: I'm in...

I hated my printer at first. But now I love it. I have a pretty thorough understanding of the machine and it's capabilities. It is working very well and there is little you have to do to keep it going. Printing on clear can be downright bitchy, but be patient, Once you have the density and lpi set i...

Re: Gerber and DC4sx comparisons needed

I have had both. I currently own a Summa DC4SX. Summa It prints 20 inches wide. No ribbon changes between colours Prints on most vinyls You can use a bunch of different programs like Corel or Illustrator to and the rip will work. Cutter is built in. Service is great Have to buy Summa Ribbons great p...

Re: Ribbon Suppliers

Exchange rate is 22% and then add delivery to Canada plus customs. I am paying the same. The thing to watch is when the bottom falls out of the us dollar. That is when we should see some swings. Don't worry so much about that. Charge what you have to. Most people aren't paranoid about a couple of do...

Re: NEW DC4sx

Try increasing the lpi to about 55. Play with the lpi a bit but be careful. It may cause a premature ribbon failure. Increase the density up in increments of 500 and check your prints. Once again it is a tough call on how much because it may cause remature ribbon failure. Ensure that your computer d...

Re: DC4SX for MX graphics, decals & Vehicles...??'s

I use mine for vehicle graphics all the time. In fact if you aren't doing large wraps it is one of the best printers on the market. The colours are consistent and strong and durable. You can also purchase the ribbon for laminating for stuff that exposed to extreme conditions. If you are doing large ...
